rough running when cold,holding back

my uk turbo with PPP(rb5 wr sport package),is holding back when cold, hesitating to accerlerate. Is this normal for a rb5 spec uk engine? All seems ok when warmed through...

The engine is designed to hold back when cold(certainly it is on the newages), so this is normal.

I've a MY99 and thats not normal. Mine was doing the same recently. Changed plugs no change. Changed MAF and that seems to have sorted it. IIRC RB5 is a 99 car too and the MAFs are certainly a weak point on the ordinary cars of that year.

A little, yes, sort of like a chain smoking alky getting up first thing in the morning before having had a shower. Once the water's up to temp it goes smoother.
