scoobynutta555 14 October 2008 05:51 PM

Hope your other choice is a bit better than that horrid thing, £9k too! You could probably get an 05 sti for that. Where's the other car?

WRX Blues 14 October 2008 06:08 PM

Low emissions - I don't get it - how come:wonder:

jjcool 14 October 2008 06:52 PM

how come you guys dont like the white one? i thought it looked very nice :wonder:

heres the other guys

2003 SUBARU IMPREZA WRX TURBO PPP BLUE nt STI no swap ! on eBay, also, Subaru, Cars, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 14-Oct-08 10:06:31 BST)

bob r 14 October 2008 06:53 PM

Well the type RA is a cracking car. It's a pity about the body kit which isn't my thing. There are some other good mods on it though.
It needs a set of 18" dark alloys too.
I think around £8-£8.5k and you would probably have a very good purchase.

scoobynutta555 14 October 2008 07:04 PM

Depends on what you're after. I'd rather have the blue one as I can't stand bug eyes. TBH neither would be on my list as they're not to my taste at all.

bob r 14 October 2008 07:07 PM

Not keen on the WRX though. I would easily go for the White one.

WRX Blues 14 October 2008 07:13 PM

HE STANDARD WRX 2003 ARE DOING 7000-75000 - THE PPP ARE DOING ABOUT 8000++ THIS IS THE DADDY !!!!

What does this mean...revs:wonder: My WRX PPP hits limiter just below 7k:eek:

jjcool 14 October 2008 07:17 PM

is it because of the orange wheels thats putting u off the blue wrx mate or back boot spoiler? as guy said they will be repainted.

out of the 2 which is worth more the white one or the blue wrx with all the mods ?

53 14 October 2008 07:19 PM

Lol the blue ones been on the telly I think :D Blue one for me :thumb:

jjcool 14 October 2008 07:37 PM

you got a link to that video mate?

53 14 October 2008 07:52 PM

I have but it's been removed, only available for a week I think on the BBC Iplayer.

It was just about a fella who had his scoob stolen and he was attending a rolling road day which this car was at.

jjcool 14 October 2008 09:02 PM

both nice cars such a tough desision :-/

RS_Matt 14 October 2008 09:03 PM

Nasty scoobs, all Evo's and scoobs should remain externally standard for me save for nice alloys, tail pipe.

...bodykits, lexus lights gaaah!

dunx 14 October 2008 09:12 PM

Unless you are just looking for just the appearance, in which case ignore the following:-
The STI has better suspension, brakes, and a six speed gearbox, plus a rash of LSD's to put it's power down, the RA is a lightweight model and is easily capable of up to 400 bhp with a bigger turbo.

Enjoy choosing !

DunxC

P.S.You could remove the "bib" from the front of the bug quite easily....

phil_wrx 14 October 2008 09:18 PM

he states in the advert that the car is only £66 to tax and exempt from congestion charge?

taffyboyo 14 October 2008 09:18 PM

If you like them mate, its fine, but if I were looking at spending 9k on a scoob both of them would be at the bottom of the list,

its a cracking time to buy any impreza, there are big bargains out there, and I dont think that a 7 year old bugeye or a tarted up wrx is worth anything like 9k,

taffy

TonyBurns 14 October 2008 11:58 PM

If he knew what he was talking about it may sound convincing :lol1:
To start with wtf is a TOG5 turbo? fact is that car will be running a VF34 out of the factory, it wont have anywhere near 320bhp and 318lbs of torque, try 280ps and 287lbs, the emissions are more like double what he has there, if it was imported after 2006 then your looking at 400 quid per annum.

Its also seriously overpriced, about 7k and maybe, but lack of knowledge puts me off the seller, atleast I would make an attempt to get the figures correct and not do all the bs :lol1:

Tony:)

winker 15 October 2008 01:04 AM

white ra

go for the white ra worth £8000 lovely car

rob2006 15 October 2008 01:49 AM

Personally i'd pick the Blobeye.. its a well known car as it used to belong to the chairman of scoobycity.

I really dont like the look of the white one.

jjcool 15 October 2008 04:34 AM

to be honest we all have our own taists on what we like, and i like the scoobys with nice kits on them, i did like the white one but on his ad most of the stuff he said like bhp, and turbo type dont addup.
its a nice car , he also he states tax is cheap.

tony was saying tax is 400 quid a year on imported cars after 2006 i checked the car on dvla regarding emission prices
and it states car details and emissions as:

Date of First Registration 01 05 2008
Year of Manufacture 2001
Cylinder Capacity (cc) 1990CC
*CO2 Emissions 141g/Km*
Fuel Type Petrol

on dvla says

Cars registered on or after 1 March 2001

CO2 Emissions 141g/Km

141/km is band D which is 151-165 and states £145.00 a year.

so bit unsure how much is the tax going to be?

the blue one is nice to as has had a few engine mods, however 71k on clock, just wondering whever it will still be a good buy in a couple of year if i kept it and still hold the value with slightly higher mileage concidering what mods it has?

also i dont know if you class 71k as high mileage for 2003 wrx ? also im not really sure on that back boot spoiler looks huge?:wonder: anyone actully like that boot spoiler

jjcool 15 October 2008 04:47 AM

am i reading this correctly, the white ra was imported this year to uk.

so how much a year is the tax? 66 pounds or 400 pounds a year ?

TonyBurns 15 October 2008 05:23 AM

Tax will be 400 quid unless the car was registered as something it isnt, in which case its not road legal and would avoid at all costs :(

Tony:)

jjcool 15 October 2008 05:29 AM

thanks tony just put the car reg into dvla database

it does state the car is 141g/Km ( low emissions )

and also tell you the rate of tax at bottom.

Date of Liability 05 11 2008
Date of First Registration 01 05 2008
Year of Manufacture 2001
Cylinder Capacity (cc) 1990CC
CO2 Emissions 141g/Km
Fuel Type Petrol
Export Marker Not Applicable
Vehicle Status Licence Not Due
Vehicle Colour Blue
Vehicle Type Approval M1
The information contained on this page is correct at the time of enquiry.
*Vehicle Excise Duty Rate for vehicle*
6 Months Rate £66.00
12 Months Rate £120.00

so look like not all import cars are high tax class.

:thumb:

TonyBurns 15 October 2008 05:55 AM

They have probably registered it as a GX or the likes so its lower emissions, this unfortunately is a tad illegal as it should have been registered as an STI, which has a 300+co2 rating :( (basically means that its been fraudulently put on the road so not road legal, makes all insurance etc invalid)

Does it say what the car is registered as?

Tony:)

TonyBurns 15 October 2008 06:02 AM

Damn, even the GX runs 204g/kg for CO2 :lol1: you need to see what its registered as, pretty positive that its either totally wrong or its been done incorrectly :(

Tony:)

jjcool 15 October 2008 09:18 AM

dvla states its a 1990cc so its down as a 2.0 on dvla.

also checked a site that checks if the cars insured, i put the reg in and it says:

Vehicle Make/Model: SUBARU IMPREZA 2.0T (01 ON)WRX STI 4D

Gary C 15 October 2008 10:22 AM
