Anyone got a standard newage dump valve

As title, anyone got a standard dump valve to fit a 2001 WRX?

Cheers
David

Got both a stock DV or a block off plate if you want some chatter :)

Dunno what they go for TBH mate. I'll find out and get back to you.

Diesel_DC 13 October 2008 10:22 PM

Will the block of plate cause issues?

Can I just do away with the DV with no problems, or do I need to do anything else

Just needs a map tweak Dave, check out the VF35 suitability though as mine runs without but is using the TD05.:)

Edit 'WRX boy' :p TD04 would be fine :thumb:

OK, looking to get the map sorted soon anyway, not hitting full boost until 4500 rpm so might as well get both done at the same time.

Flames well without, which I always atributed to the sudden stalling ?

Cheers Frayz, I may well have a standard one in the loft, as I've had a few imprezas :cuckoo:

But liking the sound of running without one even more now:norty:

Let me get this right. I have a nearly boggo WRX and there will be no issues with removing the DV and plugging the hole, and Ill get a nice chatter? Any performance issues (hopefully positive)? If its Ok, I would be interested in one of those blanking plates, frayz!

As I have a TD04, i guess that that will be fine?! Slow on the uptake I know, but I just came off nights!!

53 14 October 2008 11:40 AM

You need a map tweak.:) Which means a remap if you haven't got one already. The blank would be the cheap part of this particular modification;)

Myles 14 October 2008 11:43 AM

Roger dodger, thanks for the info!

frayz 14 October 2008 07:26 PM

Dont know if the map would need tweeking TBH guys. I did away with mine no problems. And yes on a TD series turbo this should be fine.

53 14 October 2008 07:32 PM

I thought they ran a bit sh1tty without ?

Map tweak perhaps in the sense that it would be prudent to wire up to the lap top to check running ?

frayz 14 October 2008 07:41 PM

Possibly mate, mine was fine.

Diesel_DC 14 October 2008 07:44 PM

Well I will be getting mapped anyway :D

Is it next Friday yet :luxhello:

Frayz will probably pick it up from you next Tuesday, will pm you when I deffo know exactly :thumb:
