there is a garage by mine doing bio ethanol e85 is this any good or is it not suitable for cars

Just as a source for ethanol blends (like 15-20% of e85 added to unleaded)
You can't simply put e85 into your tank - for a multiple reasons, like
different afr (with additional oxygene in alcohol), smaller calorific value etc.
It's also good idea to change fuel lines to ones working with alcohol, which is pretty corrosive to rubber etc.
Just in short...

e85 ethanol is what we across the pond have been calling flex fuel lately, chevy makes vehicles that can run on it pretty well, i think that vauxhall is a GM owned company so they might have some vehicles that run on it, not entirely sure

Yes - I am running it.

But, it HAS to be mapped for it and have components suitable for supplying around 30-35% more fueling. ie bigger injectors, fuel pump.

As said above fuel lines need to be looked at but post 2000 cars should be okay with ethanol.
