Wheel refurb £3 each
Well after 5 hours of cleaning the garage out of dust and assorted crap I was able to spruce up my wrx 17s and they don't look too bad. £6 for a can of Simoniz wheel paint, £3 each for a can of wilko primer and gloss clear and this is the result.

The colour is a bit lighter than I would have ideally gone for but the objective was a cheap tidy up and the wheel paint is in a 500 ml can which is enought to do the insides and outsides of the wheels. If I'd gone for an off the shelf body colour I would have required two cans. The only gaffe was not to mask the tyres but I couldn't get the tape to stick but it is already starting to flake off the tyre, so in a couple of weeks it should look OK. Start to finish ((not including cleaning the garage) was about 4 hours over two days plus a good polish once the clear coat has had time to harden off. |
