Arrgghh I hate choices!

As some may be aware, I am in the market for a bugeye WRX STi.

Now, I have been to see the blue one that follows - 51 plate 63k 6 month MOT/tax- PPP fitted, FSSH - and I phoned the dealers to confirm work done in the last 15k which consisted of Clutch, Fr/Re Brake Discs/Pads, Wheel Bearing, Fr/Re Struts.

BUT, bodily the skirts look wrong with the Prodrive kit plus the paint on the skirts is quite heavily chipped (due to where the seller lives - seen this for myself)

On the otherhand I have been offered a 02 plate 65k - 2 new tyres, new MOT, non PPP, no tax, I've not seen the history and I'm waiting on the servicing dealers details to confirm any work. BUT I have not seen this one - but has been sat on a dealers forecourt for a while so I would assume it is cosmeticaly sound.

So the dilema, both are very similar in terms of deal price - one PPP one non PPP - what would you go for and why?

The Blue one deal needs to be done ASAP as the guy is working away from 5am until Monday - hence the major dilema...

if it was me which i wish it was (would love an sti:norty: ) id go for the blue one mate looks nice and tidy plue its the best colour :thumb:
plus its had lots of work done(and confermed done) that would cost a small fortune disc+pads+clutch?

Bugeye STI - good choice mate. Arguably the best model to mod up for best price, semi-closed deck and forged pistons mated to a pretty bullet proof 6 speed box.

Personally I like the blue one, which is a Prodrive edition I believe, but there should be more than those 2 out there to see :thumb:

Plus if they are about the same price then it would be advantageous to have the PPP one, which I believe was a Prodrive fuel pump, intercooler hose, Prodrive exhaust and a Prodrive map. Should be a more responsive drive.

If you plan on increasing the power talk to a mapper to factor in their cost and what they can give you on each car.

Yes the Blue one has had clutch, struts, discs & pads all round and wheel bearing plus service history.

But the blue has the badly chipped sideskirts (underneath and at the arch leading edge)

id go for the black one. 2 reasons its on a forecourt so if there are any problems you have somewhere to go back to. and blue is ok but they are a bit like dog sh1t. iv'e had both colours and when black is clean it looks way better than blue.and when its dirty it looks real menacing:norty: blue just looks dirty and the same as every one else. even old ladies thought my black one looked classy but no one comments on the blue one:confused: and all the stuff thats been done to the blue one and the condition just means it's had a hard life:eek:

I've got a black one so I'm biased....

Nuff said !

DunxC

P.S. Mine's had rear struts, front hub and bearing, new front discs and pads, new rear pads, and the clutch is about to go ! All in 41,000 miles, it's been fun tho'.

P.P.S. Clutch is due to 400 bhp / ? lb.ft. ! LOL

Blue was bought and now tucked up in my garage.

I couldn't pass up the fact of the substantial work that has been done, plus the Black's history was patchy and it needed a service last month.

Anyway, very happy with it - even a few accessories thrown in that are to be chucked on Ebay (genuine subaru roofbars, PIAA Driving Lamps with surrounds and a "SUB" number plate)

Cheers
