Another X factor thread: OMG!!

I actually used to find it quite entertaining, but now all it seems to be is a show full of people crying. I was actually tempted to launch the tv out my front door...that is how irritating it has become!

Kieran_Burns 05 October 2008 06:27 PM

I spent last night while my wife was watching shouting "Oh Dear GOD! Not another bloody hard luck story!"

Grrrr......

Clarebabes 05 October 2008 06:30 PM

Don't tell me what's happening, I'm recording it!

SiPie 05 October 2008 06:31 PM

Cry factor

Not one of these feckers have had a dry eye......they are even crying before they are told if they are through or not

I can't really spoil it for you; everybody cries whether they get through or not. If you find it entertaining you might also like funerals.

Dont do that mate, a simplier cheaper option is just to turn the channel over....

Scoobychick 05 October 2008 07:22 PM

I've just said the same thing about the crying, I reckon they only do it to get a hug off of Dermie. Well that's why I'd do it :luvlove: :thumb:

PeteBrant 05 October 2008 07:26 PM

Also, I would take them off to one side to sort them out, rather than in front of the cameras

yoza 05 October 2008 07:33 PM

I cry watchin it, fall for it every time......I think I must be stressed.

Laura is going to win.....get yer money on it.

I got 12-1...........now apparently 3-1

Gotta be Austin for me, but did you see him at the end? It's like emo Austin! :freak3:

yoza 05 October 2008 07:41 PM

Is Austin the liar?

Nat 05 October 2008 07:43 PM

I think Diana has a chance but Laura has to be favourite..

Clarebabes 05 October 2008 07:44 PM

Does anyone know of anywhere giving free bets? :D

No, he didn't get through :(

Abdabz 05 October 2008 08:40 PM

LOL - I am watching it (sort of) now and am pissing my pants at the comedy background music and shocking editing, let alone the drongos trying to sing...
One or two with taleny IMO - some bird who nearly made it a few years ago and the band JLS...
But seriously for a minute ROFLMFAO at the background music and production of this spazzy show...

yoza 05 October 2008 09:09 PM

Abdabz your too hard.

Let it all out, you will feel better for it.

Do you switch on your defence mechanism and think of something else so as not to get weepy ? .....

I used to do that, 'Quick, quick, think of something else or your going to go...quick quick...hmmm dump valves, tritium gas, ice cream, 8 beats per second, fuel surge, perpetual movement, boobies'....yeah I did all that too.

Come on, Im street hardened, an I cried like a baby.

Well I'll be a wallabies uncle, it's Crocodile Dundee.:)

I have to agree, dire sh1te, ban the lot. At least the dancing one's got fit birds in skimpy oufits. What's happened to weekend TV, it's all reality TV and depressing Casualty spot the dying person City. It seems that as the weather gets worse and you want to be home curled up in front of the TV they bring out all the dross. Even worse, as the missus can't or won't programme the DVD recorder, I end up trapped into watching it as the Sky+ is recording 2 programmes at once, as ITV and BBC collude so that their programmes overlap by 10 minute.

I FIGGIN HATE REALITY TV:razz: They're a waste of money, time, oxygen, Kleenex and electrons:mad:

Oh, and another thing, the 10 second pause as they keep the poor saps waiting to say yay or nay. JUST BLOODY TELL THEM!

Yeah I know. Cheryl Cole is particularly sh*t at that...you can just tell the producers have told her to do it about 1 minute beforehand.

Really think X Factor should be put out of its misery now - even the best singers on there this year are only average, and not much better than half the pub and club singers you can see any Saturday night in your local.

And as for the sob stories ! what difference does it make to someones singing ability that their mum died 10 years ago ???

I'm sure Simon Cowell must have enough money saved up by now that he can just Fxxk off and stop inflicting this rubbish on us.

Geezer 06 October 2008 09:14 AM

Alexandra should win for singing talent, but she probably won't.

Sone of the decisions seemed a bit odd, but I suppose they don't necessarily pck the best singers, they pick who they think people will vote for.

If any of them were good enough they would have made it on their own rather than relying on a crappy TV show.

Just look at Amy Winehouse & Pete Doherty - stupid drugged up smack heads who still managed to make it big because they have the talent.

If they can make it, anyone (with talent, rather than just being a karaoke singer like those lot) can.

NEWSFLASH:

NS04 WILL BE ON IT!!!

Oh that's utter rubbish!

OK, most of them aren't that good, but there is more to making it then talent. There are plenty of acts who are ****e, but a bit of luck and being in the right place at the right time (e.g.Pete Doherty - talentless ****) saw them through.

For some reason, people who don't write their own music are somehow seen as being untalented and unworthy of success or credulity, but Frank Sinatra never wrote a song in his life, as did plenty of other 'greats'.

She's not my cup of tea, but Leona Lewis can sing, and if you think she can't you're in denial!

It's not about talent anyway, it'a about making money for ITV and Simon Cowell. It's entertainment! (of a sort ;) )

I cant get over Cheryl Tweedy sat there like the big I am, it shows the credibility of it musically as she was just another contestant a couple of years ago.

I like the early stages with the deluded, the mental, mad old buffers and hopeless wanabees, the ones who can actually sing a bit are just boring, there are only so many renditions of "Valerie" you can listen to and for me, Winehouse has used them all up.

They are so f*ckin desperate and needy, whats wrong with getting kicked out and going ok, cheers, see ya, back to reality, its like buying a lottery ticket and crying when you dont win it, well durr, there are quite long odds and even then you are likely to dissapear without trace anyway or just blend in with the multitude of other needy twats off the other how ever many shows, be it talent shows, West end find a new joey or whatever, is it really impossible for people not to lose every shred of dignity, are they told to do it or have the programmes that have gone before conditioned this response ?

Are we meant to feel sorry for them all, everyone has had someone die, everyone has an angle, should we really have much sympathy for young women with 4 or 5 kids by different men ? do we really want to be suggesting to the impressionable audience that you will garner sympathy for being a serial baby mother ?

It's a singing competition, not the Simon Bates "Our Song" slot.

stilover 06 October 2008 12:36 PM

You're all mad/stupid to be watching that sh*te anyway.

Strictly come dancing is far better :thumb:

J4CKO 06 October 2008 12:42 PM

And another thing (whilst I am Daily Mail mode), how many of the contestants are hedging all their bets on becoming the next Will Young or Cheryl Tweedy, I think its one of those things like the lottery that some will latch onto and avoid doing any actual useful work whilst waiting for their break or big win, perhaps there should be shows that promote doing well in education or progressing in work, the apprentice was perhaps the nearest but like the other shows it advocates going from nothing to 100 grand a year, i.e. this perception and dream to avoid the bit inbetween, the actual effort and slog, the idea that everything will happen in one big bang, like footballers hitting the big time, it does happen but most successful people have made a sustained effort for a long time.
