Spring value?

Having just put a set of front lowering springs on my car today (which I got for literally pence), I have been left with 2 sets of front standard springs.

Does anyone know what these would be worth to a scrap yard dealer, as I assume they are worth nothing on Ebay etc? Thought the steel the srpings are made from may be worth a couple of quid, and it gets rid of all 4 of 'em I guess?

Any info on this:wonder:

:)

Stick it in a corner, collect other bits of scarp metal as you go and when you have a decent amount, weigh it in, I dont think 15 lbs of old springs would be worth the petrol to drive it to the scrapman.

Fair enough. I may offer them for nowt to who wants them then if they can collect.

Any idea on what the going rates are currently as scrappies etc.?:wonder:

Hows that work out? My Pug weighs about 900kg (obviously not all metal), and say an Audi estate weighs 1500kg plus. Same for both cars?

I think it's now down to £70/ton.

Why don't you just attach the springs to your feet and use them as a fun mode of transport? :lol1:

Yes! thats the ticket. That would be awesome. Imagine the fun you could have if you actually developed a working model based on car springs - You could leap buldings in a single bound.

Also, after a very short time, I am not sure you would be able to get by without them

I think you will need something lowered, the standard ones might be a stretch to far.
