What HID Kit should i put on?
 

hey guys,
i was just wondering if any of you got Hid Lights (whole Kit) on your cars

i really want them on my car cuz i think they look greate

which ones is the best and the bluest? are they worth it?

what does 5000, 6000 or other numbers mean on the Hid Kits??

and where could i get them with good price? anyone selling any here?

Okay the 5000, 6000 etc. refers to the temperature of the bulbs in Kelvin. It is this temperature range which gives the bulbs there distinct colour. Just because it's blue doesn't mean it the best for vision. Some car's like Audi's also have a tint to the projector lens which increases the "blue effect". For Vision 5600K is the best temp as that is natural daylight. The best Kits that I know of are produced by Autolamps-online.com (HID-Online.com.Philips HID kits and components made by Philips in Germany and supported by unrivalled industry heritage) and Nick who owns the company knows more about HID technology almost anyone else as he helped in there design for automotive use.

All their kits use Philips ballast etc so are as close to oem as you will get.

i got 8000k , brought them of ebay paid 35 quid for them brand new from japan , is a powerseller so wasnt worried real good quality and alot cheaper then some of the uk sellers.

I'm sure bob will be around to give more detail, but in the interum... the higher the value, the bluer and purpler the effect. However, the higher the value, the less effective the lights are. Think white at 4300k and purple at 10000k. The "legal crew" will be posting shortly to let you know that hid are only lawful if they are cleaning and self leveling. Not sure of your car, but if it's a newage, the lamps are prolly projecting and good to use. If its a classic, the scatter from from a hid is not as good and dazzling to other road users and IS a real danger, plz keep this in mind. Bob will give a link soon, no doubt, and proper advice.

So far, I've not seen any bad press for those sold by BOB5 on here: his stuff seems to be pretty good, and his after sales service also pretty good. Prices are reasonable too.

As far as colour temperature is concerned, daylight is actually closest to 4300K. This is the colour temp that gives the whitest light and the highest light INTENSITY, ie: best for SEEING.;)

If you want to be SEEN, though, (poseur value), buy some with more blue, but I'd not recommend you go above 6000K if you want to avoid pulls from the dibble.

:D As above. 4300k is pure white and produces the most visible light. 6000k adds a slight blue tint and is the most popular.

Not going to get into a argument but guy's that's wrong, 5600K is nominal daylight and is the optimum temp for human eyes. Thats is the reason Philips and Hella produced their 5600K lamps

Not once you add delivery and duty, aswell as the fact Bob can get them out to you within a couple of days

looks like your right there cheaper......on the other hand there coming from china....bob'5 is uk based so if there is a problem with them your not going to be waiting for a reply or replacement unlike from china....

well ye there is the advantage of being in the uk but pay via paypal and you shouldnt worry really the kit i got is really very high quality but as you say personall choice at the end of the day .

Even with very high quality kits, parts may need replacing from time to time. It is important that you buy from somewhere that can get these to you quickly :thumb:

6000k looks very nice and gives good visibility as well.

I felt the 4300k was a Golden white rather than a Diamond crystal white which the 6000k is.

Although Bob'5 kits are excellent quality there are loads of competitively priced kits out there.
