breathers / blowby pressure readings

Hi

Anyone have any idea what sort of pressure I should expect out of the breathers (crankcase / rockers)?

I plumbed in a gauge which reads 0-140 psi in 5 psi steps and it doesn't budge, even when the engine is revved up to 5k...

Reason I ask is I pulled the breathers off the catch can today and there was a lot of fuel smell in them, I take it this isn't normal, and I've started to think the rings have problems :(!? I've been using a lot of oil recently (well about 700ml per 1000 miles), but having said that I do drive it very hard / high revs..

By the way this is an EJ257 with 7000miles on the clock, which had been run in for 1000 miles.

Fuel in the oil is normally bore wash (running too rich). My 2.5 breaths heavy but not a lot of pressure in it & no fuel smell in mine either.

I hear ya mate. The car has been ECUtek mapped so will obviously run rich at WOT, wouldn't of thought that would cause bore wash though?

My other theory is I should do a full oil change (contaminated oil), my logic being the car ran factory map for 6500 miles and the factory map is rich anyway..

Although suppose I should do a compression test really...

P.S. What wheels are you running on your P1?
