Are these your own markings your referring to?

If they're the subaru markings then it should be like below:

On top of the engine there should be a marking, hmm how can i explain, Down the centre line of the 2 block halves approx in the middle there should be markings showing which goes where.....

I have these on a EJ25 but not sure about a EJ20 though.

Hope that helps.

If they're your own markings then maybe one of the pros could advise.

Good Luck

A + B refers to the size of piston there are two grades, you should have marked them....

FYI i found it easy to get the pins in by heating the pistons with a hot air gun once in the bore. The slight expansion lets the pins slide in like butter. lol.

no their marked on the rim of the piston face them selves.like a stamping or suming.
