Rear pads on Renault Scneic MY02

I have removed the rear pads to replace them with new ones but I can't seem to push in the piston to fit the new ones.
On the face of the piston there is a 4 leaf clover type pattern which i used a set of grips on to turn the piston. The piston twists out easily but only twists goes back in about 15mm, nowhere near enough for both pads to go in.

Any ideas as to how the pistons go all the way in on these cars?

You have to wind them back in while keeping pressure on the piston...

We do a fleet of them, they can be a bit tight sometimes :(

get to halfords and get the rewind tool for 12-15 worth it's weight in gold= Britool, Draper, Facom, Gunson, Kamasa, Laser, Sealey, Silva and Sykes-Pickavant Tools. Haynes Books and Manuals - Laser Brake Caliper Piston Re-wind Tool Set

scenic pads are a pain the ass and usually end up with siezed callipers and or squeaky beaks.

Thanks, sorted now.
No special tool, just mole grips and patience. Wouldn't like to do it again.

We have an air operated wind back tool. It really does the business on stubborn calipers.

Renaults are the woerst by far tho..
