He was an ill-informed know-it-all who couldnt be told. He didn't grasp the notion of PLG registration for none type-approved vehicles.

Is it possible that cars registered before 1 March 2001 are PLG?

When was yours registered?

Can you tell that I am not really sure what I am talking about!?

GC8 12 September 2008 01:55 PM

It yes, where they were imported from outside the EU and no type approval exists.

My 04STi is PLG.

Spec'c'57 12 September 2008 10:28 PM

The noble is an 03 and PLG. :norty: no type approval at all.

So are all imports no matter how new they are taxed as a PLG???

sportwagonred 13 September 2008 08:14 PM

PLG means Private/light Goods. All cars under 3500Kgs are in the tax class but with the new CO2 regs this will shortly change but to what your guess is as good as anyones!
