Boost pressure

Fitted my new prosport gauges today, quick question on boost pressure.
Ive got a bugeye wrx with PPP, what boos pressure should I be getting.

The gauge shows 0.9 bar is that correct?

iv got a wrx bug thats been remapped and chipped, it reads 1.3 but i think thats toooooooooooo high!

The highest I've had my blob WRX PPP is 1.37 but then I think whatever the safety valve is opened and dumped the pressure - oops

It usually sits at .5-.7 in normal driving and then moves to about 1.2bar under heavy acceleration.

All recorded on a PSi3 ECU monitor by the way.

WRX PPP (2005) - PSi3 peak boost set at 1.3bar. Normally peaks at 1.28bar and spikes occasionally in cool weather in 4th and 5th gear at 1.38bar.

by sounds of it mine isnt running the correct boost?

andyxros 10 September 2008 10:37 PM

0.9 bar/ 13 psi is like standard preasure on a normal uk turbo, ppp should be higher imo, a few cheaks may be needed to carry outme thinks

gonna have a look see if restrictor pill is fitted as it has newish vacuum hoses on the boost solenoid.

andyxros 11 September 2008 12:04 AM

yes the larger the pill hole the less boost or may not be there at all good place to start

chrisUK300 11 September 2008 06:58 PM

the restrictor pill should be in the bottom vacuum hose off the boost solenoid right?

bluenose172 11 September 2008 10:37 PM

It should be in the pipe leading from the turbo to the T-Piece.
