Antenna Reception

Hi All,

Just a quick one, the radio reception in my 04 wrx is toffee. I have checked 12v going to the white wire from the head unit and searched extensively to see if I can find anymore info but to no avail.

After looking at the clarion amp in the rear passenger pillar it seems there are no loose wire or anything obvious. However there is a blue/red wire coming from the unit with a spade type connector that is connected to nothing. There is also no where obvious for it to connect.

Has anyone got any ideas as to what this connector is for??

Any help is always appreciated,

Thanks

could be the same problem i had when i fitted a pioneer avic - x1r unit. i originally didn,t reconnect the blue (i think) wire to the windscreen aerial connection. i went to my local ice shop who sorted this out for me.

Cheers Mate,

However are you talking about the blue wire from your head unit connecting to the white wire to give 12v to the antenna amp or another wire that connects to the antenna itself?

Maybe I'll just take it to the local ICE dealer when I am off!!

it was the blue wire from the head unit, this according to the pioneer installation manual gives an output of 300mA @ 12V and is initially used for an auto aerial function.
best bet as you say is to go to your local ice shop, it took them 10 minutes & £10 to do mine.
