F***ing alarm!!
Having trouble with my parents impreza at the mo. they have gone on holiday and the scoob alarm is playing up. It started going off this morning (6am!) constantly and wouldnt shut up. We disconnected the battery and put some towels around the alarm. Will it be OK disconnected for another two weeks, and what could the problem be. My dad had the battery changed a couple of weeks ago so it cant be that. HELP!!!!!

What happens if you start it up ?
Cause to kill the alarm you put the key in the ignition 2 press the fob remove and lock car with the key. |

Ask for Sigma Sam in HERE
If you knew the PIN you could activate and deactivate the alarm without the fob. As others have said, if the battery is low then the alarm may sound. Even a new battery can have problems on a Scoob as the 'smart' alternator only charges when there is enough current draw, and during the summer with lights and heaters not in use they can get low. A new battery will have dropped in charge whilst on the shelf and usually needs a good run to top it off. To protect batteries in future, advise your parents to leave the sidelights on (they go on/off with the ignition) or the fan on '1' which will keep the battery topped up as the alt detects a current draw. I'd also pop a new battery in the fob to see if you can get that working. At worst the alarm may have unassigned the fob but it's easy to reassign it. Also, if your parents are clever they may have set the alarm 'Superlock' function which disables all fob use until the PIN is entered (by opening the doors which triggers the alarm and then entering the PIN on the keypad).
