Opinions for crash helmets fro track days

Hello All

Can anyone recommend a decent crash helmet for use on track days.
On the flip side is there any makes that I should avoid ?
Appreciate any info :)

Cheers Andy.

For me, I find an open face helmet best, as it doesn't restrict your view(s) in the car, most people though have a full closed in face helmet.

I just bought mine from a motorcycle shop and went for about the cheapest, mine cost IIRC approx £50-£60, if you were using it on a motorcycle, it may be more important to have the best quality available, but in a car, you are safer anyway .

Look at the rally drivers, they also use an open face helmet ;)

I agree with Nate about buying one from a motorbike shop. You don't need to buy the most expensive/bling one, as they should all conform to UK safety legislation.

I use a full face helmet as it's one that I had from when I rode bikes and don't have a visibility problem, but I quite understand where Nate's coming from.

Helmets are a strange thing, as different makes fit differently. I suggest you get yourself down to a shop and try a load on :)

Hi yes i can recomend Ari as the best for me.They fit ME great, it right they all have different fittings you just have to go and try untill you find one that snug but not to tight but they will give a bit after some use and spend as much as you can as your head is imprtant part dont you think:wonder: (MONEY CAN NOT BUY YOU A NEW ONE) and lets hope it was a waste of money in the end and you dont have to find out if it works but if you do your be glad of every penny spent hope this help and it only my experance and my opinion that im passing on thanks jon

PS white one are normaly cheaper and it looks good on tracksorry for some spelling HA HA

I aim to start in the near future :luxhello:
As birthday is coming soonish I always struggle when family ask what I would like so a collective present like a crash helmet would be great :D

I recommend AGV all the way, I bought mine for my bike but its fine on the track,
as most have said try a lot on and try and buy a quality branded one.
