injectors
I have a MY96 STI with forged CDB gt headers twin dump down pipe td 05 turbo 3in exhaust would there be any advantage upgrading the injectors to 440's???

assuming they are not 440's already - just changing the injectors on their own without a re-map is worthless and will result in you running extremely rich once on boost and out of closed loop fuelling.
If you intend to get a re-map at the same time or very near to - then yes. 440's will see you around 330-350 bhp just drive off boost before the map - or better still fit and map at same time. |
they are grey's at the moment.the car seems all good

What AL says, it won't be happy without remapping it.
Lad I know, recently swapped from 380's to 440's without mapping and it was overfuelling like no tomorrow. |
Mickywrx at the moment I am running a K6 ECU no remap and all seem's good.Subaru mapping seem's OK??

Subaru mapping works just fine for me, mines not remapped. My injectors are maxed out from IIRC 5200rpm, so at some point something will have to be done about this. I've got a set of 440's and have thought about just chucking them in and see what happens, hell that's what I did with my front mount, but, I have been advised by many well respected mappers on here that my car will run like a bag of spanners so to speak. Must admit, I'm still tempted to though. ;) It all depends how far you are wanting to take your car, really. I think, don't quote me mind, that by raising the fuel pressure you can give yourself some headroom with your injectors. Really tempted by chucking a 321h and my 440's on and see what happens. :cuckoo: Could be interesting and quite possibly damaging. |
