Nt4 Installed
SP 6a Installed
Exch 5.5 Installed

SP4 (Ex5.5) ready to go on...

Is that next & do I have to redo SP6a afterwards?

Recommendations...

I've never replied an NT SP after doing an Exchange SP in the past.

Not had any problems but I might just have been lucky...

Fosters 08 February 2002 12:13 PM

I thought NT SPs only needed reinstallation after hardware installs.

I could be wrong.

Puff The Magic Wagon! 08 February 2002 12:16 PM

You know me - just being cautious

Ta!

Fosters 08 February 2002 12:17 PM

LOL - Can't think why!

Fosters 08 February 2002 12:31 PM

Ah-ha

I have something to look for :D

Paul, not had a good week! ;)

ChrisB 08 February 2002 12:59 PM

Give me a call if you want Puff - 2140 is quite common on the IMS.

paulmon 08 February 2002 01:04 PM

As Chris said. 2140 is a common event on Exchange 5.5. As long as it's only the IMS that's reporting this error. When the Information Store starts reporting this error that's when you need to start worrying.

Puff The Magic Wagon! 08 February 2002 01:06 PM

Chris

Being trying to resist that ;) But will do if mega-stuffed...

Paul pointed out the Event Viewer & that led me to realise that after carefully setting things up, I hadn't configured DNS lookup  Therefore smtp.easynet wasn't resolving

ChrisB 08 February 2002 01:07 PM

Thanks Fosters :p

Puff The Magic Wagon! 08 February 2002 01:18 PM

Chris

Did you have mail?

ChrisB 02 August 2002 12:17 PM

Yup ;)

For example...

If you add a new component into the Network setup on an NT 4 box, you should re-apply the SP afterwards. Unless you've slipstreamed the SP into the source CD you stuffed in when prompted by the setup routine. Otherwise you end up with file version mismatches.
