Cable for laptop to PC (Ford)

I'm after one of the cables to connect the car to a laptop ... wondering where to look for one ?

Mondeo 2001 Petrol .. if that makes a difference :thumb:

Do you mean a a cable to connect an RS232 (or maybe USB) port to the OBD2 port on the car?

Sound about right

OBD2 ports are the same (in theory) on all cars.

Aren't there different protocols they use though? I'm pretty sure Vauxhall / Opel use one version and VAG use another. Ford probably uses another.

I got a ODB2 to USB thingy off ebay for about £20 a couple of years ago; I think it came from a seller in Germany.

I believe that the differing OBD2 software is available in the public domain.
