Would normal T cut be ok to use on black mica red?
 

If that title makes sense, its black with mica red in the paint I think is the correct way to put it.

I haven't got the money to spend on these kits that everyone seems to buy on here at the moment, but the paintwork could do with a once over and i've got standard T cut at home, was just wondering if people think it'd be ok to use?

Ive used t-cut before without issue though ppl on here wont recommend it,wouldnt use normal t-cut though use metallic its milder than the normal stuff though still be carefull on the edges of doors bootlid and top of rear quarters at the side of the boot lid theres only a light coat of laquer on the edges and its easy to go through with a harsh polish.

If youre not after spending much (dont know what ya class as much) try poorboys professional polish followed with einszett metallic polishwax-you`ll be impressed trust me.

Both are plus postage as only available online generally.

Just remember t-cut on its owns just a paint renovator not a protector ie a sealant or wax ideally after paints cut back ya need something to keep it like that.

get on the polished bliss site and view the guides at the top of this section. only thing tcut is good for is the bin imo lol.

there are far more advanced products out there now. personally i'd go with menzerna intensive polish worked on the white site of a german applicator pad (if working by hand) if working by machine menz ip on a megs soft buff cutting pad followed up by menz rd3.02 on a fine polishing pad to finish down.

once youve corrected the paint, protect it with something like the werkstatt kits (acrylic or carnuba) or for black my new favourite a layer of poorboys black hole followed up by either of the dodo waxes that are colour charged for dark colours - purple haze or blue velvet.

Best advice i`d give anyone is dont get caught up in the "expensive is better" hype as its not always the case, especially when it comes to waxes.(imo)theres no need to ever spend more than £25.

P.S.if someone wants to bring me a dull car i`ll t-cut it an use some average polish like AG SRP on it to prove that it will work lol.

T-cuts not something ya want to use regular but lets face it i could put pics on here sayin i`d used something like menzerna followed with a finishing polish then something like p21s wax an who`d be the wiser if ya gettin good results an the pics proved it??

A mates got a spl/db drag car he initially bought for £50 we werent that fussed about it just wanted it to shine as it had faded quite a bit as its all about the bass not the car-anyway all we did were t-cut it and go over with autoglym super resin polish after.
car had sat under trees a while too-wanted claying to be fair but just to show whats possible-

as a cheap quick fix for bad paintwork would never put anyone off using it all together as....... well it works :lol1: would say once its back to looking fine then maybe choose some better quality stuff to both improve on it an keep it that way.

Yer at times mine has seen metallic t-cut before anyone asks.

Not everyone needs or wants to spend the time/money on a showcar finish.
