REBUILT ENGINE

I have rebuilt my engine 1996 STI V2 with forged internals.I have a epprom chip should I fit this now or run in on standard K 6 ECU? Then fit the remap chip? Thanks Steviecrump!!!!

Fit it after your remap would be my suggestion but as long as your steady and no boost and no more than 4krpm until your run in is complete then I don't suppose it matters. The temptation would be there to "see if its different" if you fit the new chip.

Run it in properly then fit the chip.

proper running in involves a blast at high revs very early in the engines life imo.
this "grannying" around at 3k revs for a thousand miles isnt the way to do it.

Peanuts what is the correct way to run in??????I have been told 500 miles on cheap oil change, then 500 miles on cheap oil, then synthetic done??What about giving it a blast??

its preference I guess.
