Spec c downpipe advice
Can anyone tell me if the 3" downpipes available for a normal sti will fit my 2004 spec c or do you need a different one for the twin scroll turbo. Also where is the best place to get one. Cheers

You need a different downpipe for twinscrolls.
As for what's the best place - it's probably more a case of what's the best downpipe isn't it? I, and many others, rate the Milltek system but it's not the cheapest. Powerstation are a good bet, but others will be along with their suggestions soon I'm sure! |

Hayward and scott make a very nice system which fits perfectly. Be warned a JDM twin scroll 3" complete system will make your ears bleed... am not kidding here!! Make sure you order one with a center silencer. If fitting it yourself make sure you put a flat in the silenced part if not it will knock on the prop shaft support bracket. Here is a pic off a twin scroll DP. Attachment 50019 Attachment 50020 |

When opened up, the sound is wondrous - a glorious howl, more high powered bike than car, due to the equal length headers on the JDMs. |

Its different from the turbo to the back box mate. The downpipe mouth is a different shape and the center is the same as a classic impreza.

My Milltek seems to have a resonator in my downpipe and centre section. My brother has the twin scroll RCM exhaust, it's much louder than mine, much!!

Don't agree - the Milltek 3" decat only has a resonator in the centre pipe and it does NOT make your ears bleed. It measures 96dB at 6000rpm and 98dB at 4000rpm. My main complaint is that in the 3000-4000 rpm the noise is more than I'd like in a family car, but no one ever complains. A bung is available.

Drive one without it, you cant hear a passenger when crusing at 60 never mind the noise it makes when around town. |

I have a full system for sale designed to fit a Spec-C. It has a silenced centre section and a wrapped downpipe like the one pictured above. Here's the link https://www.scoobynet.com/private-sa...in-scroll.html
Its also brand new Rich:thumb: |
