Changing brake pads on a car, does it void warranty

hi guys, i have a little corsa van which i purchased new from JCT Vauxhall for one of our pharmacies.

I was wondering if I was to get the brake pads changed from an independant garage, would this result in my warranty being void?

Thanks

As long as the garage is vat registered, you will not void your warrenty. :thumb:

or you dont have to tell anyone

O yeah the garage is well known its just I wont need to wait for a few days to book it in and then the whole palava of rubbish jct staff lol

Plus on a side note, does it sound normal for a small van like a Corsa Van with little load that has covered only 8.5k miles in 10 months to have its pads worn out?

depends on how it is being driven..... with respect or with utter contempt.....

A mate (MadScientist) used to have an WRX as a company car and needed 4 new tyres after only 2500K lol

2 1/2 million miles is good going :D ;)

A guy I know did this in 9 laps, or 10 miles of Blyton....

lol .... my mistake.... 2.5K

Pads and indeed the discs are consumables and are not usually covered under warranty anyway.

I went through a set of discs in 12K miles in a Pug 206, pads were fine though apparently

So long as you fit Manufacturers pads youre OK.

I think that 8.5K is certainly a bit of a short time in which to wear them out. Are you sure that they are worn that badly?

You would have to be doing "stoppies" at all the lights to manage that!

Les :D

As it's a van he may be regularly carrying reasonable weight which will reduce pad life. He may also be last of the late brakers and need to improve his driving, as do ALL van drivers
