Change your Auto Glym and Meguiars and use Jeffs Acrylic Kit you will be very happy with the results. As for yor zip wax try using Meguiars Gold Class or Jeffs Auto Body wash instead.

A Waffle Weave Towel is a good addition, loads better than a leather, they normally cost about £10.

Would agree with this. Took me a while to be persuaded to use the Acrylic but now I have it I'm convinced.

sounds good, what is the nattys blue or red wax like?

any links to the other bits?

i have got a couple of the auto glym synth chamois, and one of them water blades

DarrenSTI 25 August 2008 04:40 PM

I personaly dont use the Water Blade anymore, due to the risk of added minor scratches to the paint. It shows up more on darker coloured cars like my WR Blue, thats why i use the Weave towel as it soaks up x10 more water than the leather, so drying the whole car in minutes. Plus if u use a open ended hose to drag the water droplets off the panels before drying, so in a werd way you are using water to dry:wonder: , but its work!.

agree with above Weave towel are the way to go and a leaf blower if your really sad like me

mad555 25 August 2008 07:20 PM

As above get yourself one of the Poorboys waffle weave towels alot better than a chamois leather and some good quality microfibre cloths.Any queries you have could probably be answered at Polished Bliss - Car Care Products - Car Care Advice - Detailing Services - Scotland - UK their guides are good and clear and very approachable chaps to.

Just lately I use quick detailer on the car when drying it off after a wash... currently I'm using the Meg detailer and wax combo in the black pot.
Spray each panel as you dry it with the towel it really makes a difference.

In addition to that said above, here is some more info on what to use on light colours for best results...
