2002 Spec C TMIC

Hi, I'm looking to fit a bigger TMIC on my Bugeye.

I was offered an APS TMIC, I know they perform pretty well, but there's small aluminium particles loose in the cooler and I don't want to chance using it (even after flushing it out) on my new EJ257 conversion.

I've been offered a TMIC from a 2002 Spec C STi, question is, is it the same as a standard Sti TMIC? Would I be better off with another 'large' aftermarket TMIC, say......a Monsta?

All replies much appreciated.:thumb:

I think that version intercooler is the same design as the one I have and is about as good as you're going to get/need for up to, and sometimes over, 400bhp.

But with you living in Brisbane(lucky git), would you not be better off going FMIC?

It's the same TMIC on the Spec C as any other STi8 TMIC, but the later TMIC from the Hawkeye is apparantly slightly more effecient.

STi8 TMIC is capable at up to 430bhp (and beyond), regardless of what some people may lead you to believe. But then it does depend on climate and use as well.

I was thinking about a FMIC but I want to keep lag to a minimum.

I've made an air deflector to force air to the front of the TMIC, I'm about to fit a bigger bonnet scoop and I'm looking at fitting sprayers soon. Along with a half decent TMIC I should still see 250kw (330 bhp) atw with my mods. My current set-up sees full boost at 3000rpm.:norty:
