Muppets ??? Where

Depends if the path is hard coded in? If it is then the easiest way is the get hold of the source code and recompile it with a different path. Failing that you have to edit the program with a hex editor or such program......

you can edit the .vbp, .bas, .cls and .frm files in notepad. You'll probably find the file location in the .frm or a .bas file.

If you have trouble, send them to me and I can change and recompile for you.

YHM again !!!!

I did beat you to it, this time !! They had hardcoded the source directory. Very easy to change. Wish they were all this easy.

I have a basic proogram that someone has written for me, but i just need to change one reference in the prog (c:\temp to D:\temp).

Is there a program I can download that will allow me to do this? It was originally written in VB6 I think.

Paul

Edit - Sorry if you came from the muppets :D

I've never really used VB, I have been given a finished prog and also a set of (un-compiled) files. What can I use to edit the paths??

Edit - The files I have are:
backup
backup.exe
backup.vbp
backup.vbw
frmmain.frm
frmpro~1.log
frmprogress.frm
module1.bas

If this means anything  :D
