Spider in my wing mirror

As above, how can i get ride of the crafty little creature? When i wash the car, i spray my hose ;) around the wing mirror to try and flush him out, to no avail. The next day the bugger has started his new web, but there is no sign of the elusive invertebrate. Now i have caught sight of him on one occasion when i was driving down the road, but as soon as i wound the window down, he buggered off behind the mirror. Now i know my car in an import, could it be some sort of japanese ninja spider that resides behind the mirror? :wonder: Any suggestions bar flame throwering the mirror or dismantling it would be grateful :)

I'v had a few of them where i live, they usually end up just leaving on their own or maybe iv just forgotten about them by the time the cars been sold on :D
At one point i think i had 2 spiders living on the car somewhere.

Cant honestly remember if they've left due to something iv done or just cos they fancied a change. :wonder:

sorry not much help there.

lol @ Japanese Ninja spider

lol I got one too.

swiped the web away when I got in the car on the way home the other evening, driving in traffic, and the cheeky begger was making another one as i drove along.

Fly spray works a treat.

Poor spiders' only trying to stay somewhere sheltered and build a web to catch their dinner. :D

The more spiders about the less flies i have to worry about ;)

I can't get near him, never mind charge him for the ride

Wing mirror? Been a while since I've seen a car with one of them

What is it, a morris minor? ;)

Anyhoo, wait for him to make a web. Then at night he usually goes into the middle waiting for its prey. Then attack, first by breaking the web from the mirror so he can't run back in and then flushing him off the car with the hose (or splat him :) ).

PeteBrant 20 August 2008 05:07 PM

You'l never get it. That car is dead to you now :(

pimmo2000 20 August 2008 05:09 PM

Fly spray .. bit harsh

I had one on my last car, and whilst pulling onto the motorway noticed it clinging on to the end of its webby string, getting blown about all over he place
I was p1ssing myself and couldnt help put my foot down and giggle as it struggled to hold on :notworthy
Tough little buggers tho  Hung on all the way, and eventually i slowed down to a normal speed and it legged it back behind the mirror :Suspiciou

MMMMMMmmm :wonder: Sure every car has its sneaky resident 8 legged friend squatting behind the wing mirror  :lol1:
And no matter how much you try and flush it out with a hose whilst cleaning your pride and joy, it probably just treats itself to a shower at our expence :p

I can't believe you want to get rid of your resident spider. Mine has been in my wing mirror for years, good old Alfie and I have been everywhere together. He's lapped Silverstone full Gp circuit, the Nurburgring - even came 4th in a timed sprint. No wonder he doesn't want to leave ;)

Jamie 20 August 2008 05:23 PM

Yes and they can cook unwanted spiders on very slow cars ;)

Jamie 20 August 2008 05:25 PM

Alfie sounds a bit gay you sure he lapped silverstone :)

Jay m A 20 August 2008 05:35 PM

You wouldn't say that to his face

He also V-maxxed the car on the continent too. :thumb:

However my other resident spider (unnamed) was KIA doing a Vmax in my old Westfield :(

Jamie 20 August 2008 05:44 PM

Poor old spider :( my badgers (sas) would chew said spider to bits :)
