Cant get a gear when starting from cold....
Just noticed sometimes lately that when i start the car from cold i cannot select any gear at all. The only way i can ge a gear is to stop the car again and then i can select a gear, start the car in gear and its usually fine:confused:
Sometimes i do this and start the car in gear with the clutch fully depressed, and once the car starts i let the clutch out, which results in a bang/thud from the gearbox area, car is in gear and then all is fine:wonder: This has only ever happened when the car is cold, after that its fine:Suspiciou Any idea what this could be, its happened twice now and just wanna get a second opinion?? Maybe the clutch plate needs a good cleaning with a hard launch or something?? Cheers:thumb: |
Maybe try a gearbox oil change, Castrol Syntrax (4ltrs)is the choice fluid, cheapest and quickest thing to try, also have a good look in the old oil for any metal bits(signs of more serious damage maybe).
