White Paint
 

Does anybody know if Subaru Paint Code 230 White form a MY97 car has lacquer on it or is it just a solid colour?
Was wanting a stone chip kit and they all come with lacquer but am sure it is a solid white at least is under the bonnet :wonder:
Be helpful to know before I attack it with the polisher too :thumb:

i'd have thought so. my 93 ra is solid red and that's got a lacquer layer on it. would be an idea to get someone to test your paint thickness before you go at it with a polisher too :thumb:

I don’t plan on taking much paint off no major scratches or swirls, I don’t know anywhere that would have a tester :wonder:

Am sure it’s a solid white have done a few small scrapings in discrete areas and there is no lacquer. And have done some compounding under the bonnet and no lacquer there. So its ither had a respray or was solid white to start with.

Got my parcel from PB so when I have a couple of days free will post my results :thumb:

depends on if its been painted or not ;)

my roof has clear coat on it, the rest of the car does not (as i painted it in cellulose paint)
