drag racing problem. Power loss.

hi guys. Im at santa pod at the moment so doing this on my phone so sorry for the formatting. Ive just done 3 runs on the 1/4 mile track but the car seems to be loosing alot of power. Its a 2003 import sti with dccd-a. For these runs i had the dccd set to auto. But it feels really slow on the track. Coming up the relief road in 3rd and put my foot down seemed to pull like a train but form a standing start just seems so bad through 2nd and the rest of the gears. Could the dccd set to auto cause it to loose power? Tgamjp

You've probably got a lot of heat soak after the queing for runs, and with the weather. That won't help. Thats assuming you are not running a Front Mounted Intercooler.

the best time i have had at the moment is 14.4 @ 97 mph. Do there cars have traction control? And also what would be the best diff settings?. Cheers guys.

the car as far as i know is complety standard. Could the ecu be retarding the timing for some reason? When just putting your foot down from low revs in 5th as soon as the turbo comes in it pulls really hard so its very weird to me as to what is happening. Going to get some octaine booster and reset the ecu over night and have another go tomorrow. Btw im running 99 octaine fuel at the moment. Any help mucho welcome :) thanks

Put the dccd in "lock" for the launch then roll it all the way backwards to open diff when u get rolling, if u are running a top mounted intercooler still spray it with a bit of water to stop the heatsoak a bit :thumb:
