Electric windows to manual?

How easy is it to convert from electric windows to manual on a classic RA?

I am looking to reduce weight further on my track car. Either that or plexi windows? Anyone know where from and how much?

I would prefer to keep the glass really so the conversion interests me more.

If its simple, anyone want to swap their manual mechanisms for my leccy stuff?

Come on guys - anyone in the know out there?

Don't know how it's done, but presumably it's a case of taking out the motors and changing the lifters for ones from a manual window Impreza if such a thing exists. You must be desperate to save weight if you want to ditch the electrics but keep the window glass...I'm assuming you've done everything else already and you're running out of stuff to remove i.e. stripped the rear seats out, changed your front seats for buckets, running lightweight rims, got rid of door trim, carpet etc.

Hi there.
My first place would be to go to the scrap yards and look for basic models of impreza. Would be pretty confident that a base model would have manual windows.
I havnt done the conversion on scooby's but know that it should be easy enough to complete if other cars are anything to go by.

cheers lads I will get searching. sub 1000kg's is the aim at the moment and I am not far off. I calculate 1050 at present with half a tank of juice.

now the car is for competition use and trackdays only, i would be happy with plexi windows - anyone know the best value place to source these?

I am aiming for 400bhp/tonne btw.
