OZ ultraleggera - HELP PLEASE!

I have just bought (impulse buy) a set of OZ ultraleggera's 18" 48 offset - 5 stud.

They are in mint condition and with toyo proxes t1-s 225/40 zr18 tyres which are almost brand new also. They were fitted to a 96 scooby (I think - he may have said 06).

A few of questions:

1. Will they fit my 03 blobeye WRX?
2. Is £499 a reasonable price considering the condition and tyres?
3. Has anyone got any photo's of them on a scooby?

Any help would be really appreciated as I am panicking a bit:confused:

I haven't paid for them yet so I though better to check now.

should fit your car no prob's,i would have thought 225's where more sutied to a newage car anyway.as for the price,if they are mint you have'nt done bad at all.......good quality rims:)

What rim width are they? 7.5" or 8".

Either should fit over your standard brakes, matt graphite, like mine (I found out after I had purchased them) are only available in 7.5" and won't fit over STI Brembo's without spacers!

Thanks for the help guys. They are 7.5" which should be fine as I only have standard brakes.

I feel like I've got a good deal but I'm the worrying type.:freak3:

Picked them up today and they are like new!

One slight problem - when I tried to fit them using my old Subaru wheel nuts the wheel nuts didn't seem to be quite big enough and I ended up with the hexagon bit of the nut slightly catching the wheel nut hole and scraped the outer edge of the hole (not noticable thank god). My locking wheel nuts were fine as the had a larger 'wedge' recessed bit.

Do I just need to buy replacement wheel nuts?

If so can anyone recommend the correct ones to fit ultraleggeras without damaging them.

Decided not to fit for now as I was worried about damaging the wheels.

An help would be appreciated.

I do hope the nuts weren't going in at an angle if they managed to scrape the hole. It could suggest that, as you stated, they may have come off an 06 STi in which case the PCD will be 5x114.3. All classics, new-age WRX's and STi's up to 04 had 5x100. STi's from 05 onwards used the larger 5x114.3 to accommodate enlarged hubs which are needed to cope with the stress of RE070 tires. Check the spec embossed on the inner spokes/rim for the PCD, but your is definitely 5x100 !

Dave, the std nuts are curved, hemispherical (?) and the OZ nuts are/appear to be a 45 degree conical fit....

As you know I have both !

Hope we find you hard at work this cold Saturday ;) #

Just got word from ebay and possibly google (nothing definitive) But they state they the OZ wheels have a 60 deg taper rather than the 45 deg taper on a subaru.

Anyone shed any light on this?

Do the wheels actually NEED any spacers or spigot rings?

The wheel does clear the caliper JUST, possibly 2mm in it. If they do have the 60 deg taper i will be buying some else where as the 60 deg ones seem very common and easy to buy. the 45deg ones are impossible to find leading me to believe this is correct.

I have to some how try and measure the taper on each of the wheels / the nut.

Thanks

Ahaa found a local stockist who are gonna look at the wheels for me and sort me out with somthing tomorrow.

Will 4 wheels fit in the boot of a subaru?

scoobyc 09 February 2009 04:42 PM

Im loving the black look. i was thinking of doing the same to mine. I went with the intention of buying something sub par, then doing my own refurb and paint them black. But they turned out to be mint condition :).

Any STI center caps available?

dunx 09 February 2009 04:52 PM

Nice aren't they !

But I would say that.

dunx

P.S. Mine were some of the first to land in the UK, and did come with spigot rings. The "spare" I bought from MSWUK doesn't, and was one of the last in stock (my size) in the UK.

P.P.S. Mine are Super's but same difference...

Nope. Not in mine.

I put one in the boot and three on the back seat (two behind pax seat, one behind driver). Secure them well. :thumb:

I use the recessed hexagon nuts on my superleggies so no damage to the wheels when they come off. Got them from Midland Wheel Services.
