MY07 Sti gearbox oil change tools

I'm about to change my gearbox oil. Are any special tools required before I crawl under the car. i.e. What size sockets are the two drain plugs I need to remove?

Thanks,

Ian

Service requirement for the drivetrain is 30k or 3 years Good idea to change a bit sooner than that, although 1 year is a bit OTT!
The 1 year requirement relates to the engine oil.

Interval on gearbox

Hi John and Matt,

I'm beyond deciding whether it's a good idea or not! I had it changed in May for Silkolene Syn S. The centre diff now groans on lock when warm. So I'm putting Castrol Syntrax in to hopefully cure it!

I wish I'd not changed the factory fit oil as I had no problems with it!

I'd read on here that you need to change the oil anually because of the A-DCCD working the oil harder than a WRX.

So does anyone know the size of the drain plugs or have I got to crawl under to look ;-)

I've been under the car and the job's not done yet. I've not got a T70 torx bit 8-(. You also need a 14mm socket.

A good thread is here:
