help with fitting td05 to a 2000 uk turbo !
hi guys fitted a td05 the other day put it on with the actuator that came with it and it produced very slow and low boost (about 6 to 7 psi) so i wound it out a few threads on the bar and managed to get about 9 psi still slow at boosting up ! I had to take the pipe with restrictor off to fit the actuator ccause the pipe on it was of a diffent diametre ... would it be that not having the restrictor in is causing the problem ? I have put my old actuator on tonight off the old TD04 so gonna see what thats like in the morning ! I have split the pipe that had the restrictor in now so am i gonna have to get a new one ? and also were shall i set the boost on this TD05 my TD04 was doing about 12psi

you would need a re-map to get the TD05 to run correctly/safely and get the benefit out of it that it can provide.................
as for the low boost then yes you need to re-install the restrictor pill to achieve boost easier alyn |
hi cheers for your reply which size restrictor pill do i want to be asking for ? do i need the one that was on the car before or another one eith it being a bigger turbo ?
|
you only need the restrictor pill if you are running standard boost solenoid surely. If you are running an aftermarket one it does away with this afaik
|
Or you could just have your boost solenoid plumbing all the wrong way round, which would restrict you to wastegate pressure like it's doing.

im running the standard boost solinoid as far as the pipe work i think im right with it but ill double check tomoz thanks for the help and if there s anymore ideas just let me know cheers from tom !
