engine check light
 
my engine check light has just come on i was driving nice and easy down the motorway and it just came on it seam to run no diffrent and no our problems have arouse.iv got a 100 cell race cat on it could this be the cause if so how do you reset the light

Your "check engine" warning lamp could be on for 100 & 1 reasons, you will need to get the code read from the ECU to get an idea of what is wrong.

sorry just viewed your scooby, and noticed its not a classic. I dont know if they are the same but on the classic models under the dash by your feet you have two black connectors and two green, if you connect the two black connectors it will tell you the fault code. its worth having a look to see if you have the wires. Best of luck

It can't be done this way on a new age car... Only Classics can be read manually using the connectors... All new age cars have to be interrogated using software.

thanks for the info guys iv found the green conectors ans one black one ill try and find the other one and connect them and see what it says

For unknown reasons they left the wires behind the dash when they fitted the OBD II port on the newage. However I don't think it gives out the full OBD II codes which have to read from the actual OBD port.

I'd try and find someone to read the codes for you, Subaru garages tend to charge an alarmingly high fee for plugging in their select monitor.
