Car finally detailed..

Finally got to get to work on it. Been waiting for ages to find the time to get properly stuck in to this.

Just general dirt, not the real reason I started out on this detail

Rinsed down and then washed using the two bucket method with Meguiars shampoo plus and a lambswool wash mitt.

Thorough wipe down with Autoglym Intensive Tar Remover - which showed a lot of tar and dirt despite being done during the winter.

With the paint decontaminated and feeling like glass the car was again washed, rinsed off and dried with a waffle weaver towel.
Looks okay, but under the lights closer inspection will tell a different story

Now to the serious work - the machine polishing. I knew from regular washes that I was going to have my work cut out removing the scratches and swirls that had built up. The bodywork was covered in swirls (before pic)

and had a few scratches

Out with the Porter Cable 7424 :luxhello: . Firstly on with a Lake Country CCS Light Cut Spot Pad with Menzerna RD3.02 for the harder to reach places before swapping over to the 165mm Light Cut Pad for the larger areas. That was then, perhaps unnecessary but I was out to get the car looking as good as possible, followed up with Menzerna 85RD on a Polishing pad - including the headlights and rear lights. Between the two it seemed to take the majority of the defects out, although I must admit there were a few scratches that I just ran out of courage working on but that had definitely dulled down.

After all that I then sealed the paint with a coat of Blackfire Midnight Sun Ivory Carnuba Paste Wax and topped it off with Blackfire Deep Gloss Spray.
Bodywork was then completed by dressing all of the exterior trims including the wheel arches with Meguiars All Season Dressing, polished the exhaust backbox/tail pipe with firstly Autosol Metal Polish then with Meguiars NXT All Metal Polish, the tyres were dressed with Blackfire Long Lasting tire Gel and a coat of Poorboys wheel sealant was applied to the front of the alloys (they had recently been completely sealed when I got them a few weeks ago so this was a top up).
The interior wasn't really that dirty but received a quick wipe down with Poorboys Natural Look Dressing and the carpets got a hovering. The glass was wiped down with Meguiars NXT Glass Cleaner.

All in this took me just over two days, reckon about 18-20 hours (stopped counting!!), to do.
Pleased with it, though my poor camera work and/or the camera don't fully do it justice despite taking about 20 pics of it finished !!
