Have a look on Jolly Green Monster's website (Google Jolly Green Monster) or I think the surrey scoobies website has a fitting guide on there (Home of the Surrey Subaru Club!)

How to change the Fuel Pump
Remove rear seat or fold down if a wagon or uk with folding seat
pull back the carpet in the boot on drivers side
You will see a raised part oval with four screws holding it on
remove it
unplug the electrical connection (the fuel pump and fuel level wiring)
remove the petrol cap to release pressure
run the engine until it stalls
remove pipes on top of tank
undo 8mm nuts holding the tank top on
Lift out the tank top, and cage attached to the bottom
the pump is in this cage etc..
you will need to rotate the cage to get it out

remove the pump from the cage and fit the walbro.. if a newage then the pump will plug straight in and also the same on 99iirc..
if earlier car you need to cut the connectors off and connect the new one etc..
use the OEM filter sock on the new pump.. not the walbro as it is less efficient
and doesn't drop to the bottom of the tank.
cable tie the pump to the cage if it doesn't feel secure.
Refit the cage to the tank, making sure the rubber seal is aigned correct..
refit pipes and plug pump back in
replace cover
replace rear seat

Job done

Can one of these be fitted without having to remap again afterwards?
