Done some to the ra at last

Well as a fair few of you know, i don;t get to spend much if any time detailing my own car. and the effects of that can be seen in the pic below. this is what you get for a quick wipeover with qd and an mf instead of washing. the last time the ra had a proper wash and protection detail was november last year! but it is still beading :smug:

any this is what it looked like:

pretty bl&&dy awful imo and am ashamed that i let it get like it.

but the last couple of evening has seen me cleaning down a panel at a time and doing a correction and 3 layer protection.

method used was 2 bucket wash, clay, 2 bucket wash, dry inspect paint, polish with rotary using menz ip and megs cutting pad, menz final finish on ccs pollishing pad, combi of poorboys black hole and white diamond (as my car is neither light or dark) and then followed up with a layer of dodo purple haze spit shined and then a layer of blue velvet.

why all the steps? well the bh and wd help to give a great shine and even surface on which to apply the wax. the ph is a soft wax and the bv a hard wax. both are colour charged for dark cars. there will be more layers going on of each wax and a couple of layers of rainforrest rub (neutral wax) Then it'll be onto the supernatural for a few layers :D:D. it'll all be topped up with mother's reflections advanced top coat for added protection as it lives outside 24/7.

this all needs to be done in time for auto tuner on the 10th Aug!  well i'm pretty chuffed with how shes looking so far. i can now start to get some of her new graphics on. :D

much better paint quality

cheers for the comments. trouble is i doubt i will be the one who benefits from the effort. ra is up for sale  i don't really use it and the missus has a far point when she says that there's about £5k sat on the drive doing nothing.
