Man died 'urinating on live rail' - Yahoo! News UK

Has anyone seen the program on Discovery where the two film effects guys try to make things work or solve urban myths?

They spent most of one show trying to get this to work and failed. Looks like it could be true then?

:)

Given that a urine stream breaks into drops in falling I doubt that he died from that.

Yes I know thats what they found on Mythbusters (the prog you refer to), I'd say he touched the live with his foot or something similar.

Sound similar to a story I heard about a lad who worked for BR who was nipping across the tracks to get to the toilet at the Depot, unfortunately he was hit by a train :( I know your thinking wtf has that got to do with peeing on a live line?!?

Well the similarity lies in the fact that the chap hit by the train and the chap electrocuted is, both of their helmets were found 100 yards up the track, although one was yellow, with BR on the front!

Personally, I don't believe it. I've stood on live rails in trainers in the dry and got just a tingle.

Doesn't half make you jump if you KNOW it's 750V DC though:eek:
