Digital Pianos

Anyone have one, if so what do you have and how do you rate it

Been looking at them lately, and Yamaha have just brought out a new range, one of them being the YDP140 which is suppose to be far superior to its predecessor, and there are some good deals on at the moment

Ive seen people like gear4music pianos, but cant find any reviews anywhere, which leads me to believe they arent that good

Along with Chase Pianos too, same as gear4music

Cheers

My sister has a Yamaha one (must be nearly 10 years old now). It sounds great and plays very much like the real thing, it has a lovely key action. She's never had a problem with it, although to be fair she doesn't use it very much.

Do you think she would notice if it went missing ;)

The Yamaha (obviously) samples the notes from a Yamaha piano. I bought my wife a Technics which sampled a Steinway. She tried the Yamaha and didn't like the key action, but loved the weighted action of the Technics

Unfortunately Technics seem to have stopped producing the pianos now, but at the time they really were much better than the Yamaha offering.

A couple of things learned from the buying experience was:
Pick one with a sound you like
Pick one that 'feels' like the real thing

Oh, and AC Hamilton do VERY good deals! (very honest salesman who did not try and sell me anything!)
