CHECK ENGINE LIGHT APPEARED! HELP PLEASE!

Just been out for a drive in the old classic (94 M reg Sti V2)

It seemed to drop revs then pop then the CHECK ENGINE light appeared.

I just put clutch down and coasted home freewheeling as was just around the corner.

The speedo packed up yesterday if this is related.

It wont rev over 4.5

Is it safe to drive??? I just drove it down the drive but scared stiff itll blow something.

Any help would be most appreciated.

Just done the ecu reset

On returning home with all plugs connected still the CHECK ENGINE light flashed 3 x long and then 3 x short

Just unplugged the green and the black connectors and now light has gone off.

Should his now be safe to drive???

Thanks again

Does the speedo still not work as that will cause the 4500rev limit and 0.5bar boost.

33 is vehicle speed sensor.

The speedo not working will throw up the CEL and limit the car to 4500rpm.

mine did this and found that the clocks were at fault replace clcoks and car was fine again speedo worked

the speed sensor is inside the clocks itself
