I have noticed over the last few weeks that the number of dead badgers by the roadside seems to be on the increase.
Yesterday I even saw two caught by the same car.

Is there some sort of conspiracy going on or am I imagining things ?

Anybody else noticed this.

BOB.T 05 February 2002 03:26 PM

I have:(

I gave one a right bashing on Sunday night, luckily for me I'd already put the car through a wall on Friday night so the badger didn't do any further damage:rolleyes: Badger wasn't right chuffed tho:(

It's rabbits by me, seem to be out in their hundreds again. The drive to work is a big slalom/braking exercise!

I'm sure they're playing chicken or something..

Now you come to mention it I have seen three dead ones in the past 4 or 5 days. It must be either the weather or some strange cult thing ;)

Seamus - Rabbits playing chicken !!!

They must be thespian rabbits.

Definately a cult thing. I saw a group of badgers huddled round a fire chanting the other day. I'm sure there was a small (possibly virgin) rabbit hangling over the fire  :p

The last time a rabbit ran out in front of me, I was in the MX-5, and my front lip spoiler chopped its ears off - the ears went over the bonnet the rest of the rabbit went under the car (i missed it with the wheels)

Just one thing about hitting a badger, I don't know if this was true or not, but aren't you supposed to report it to the local police. Not hit one myself, but in one 4 month period clocked up two rabbits, four pheasants and a pigeon. Found a deer lying in the road once but the bugger was gone before I got back with my mate to scoop it up.

Report the badger, for what, jaywalking? What can they do, it's not like they can punish it now is it:confused:

Bob;)

They're very talented rabbits around me, expect a new Lloyd Webber musical cunningly called "rabbits" at a theatre near you....

Friend of mine hit a Badger in his 205 GTi a few years back, it completely smashed a hole though the front bumper, can't say I've noticed any increase in dead ones in Northants though.

Quote from Bob.T " Badger wasn't right chuffed tho"

lmao!!! sorry.

They are hard fekers - I hit one in an astra van just after I learned to drive (I was in the van, the badger was on the road for all the pedants) Ran over it with front and back wheels. Didn't know what to do with it, but it was in a residential area, so didn't want to leave it lying there for kids to play with. Chucked it in the back of the van and went to work. Two hours later I looked out and the van was bouncing about the place like someone was sh4ggin in the back. Opened the back doors and Mr Badger came rocketing out and disappeared into the bushes. Glad he didn't come round while I was still in the van

sorry guys buy I'm in tears here, some of the comments are just too funny! :D

Not seen many badgers, but have noticed a hell of a lot more dead foxes.

Maybe it's the weather? or maybe it's a new government slow down thing, get the animals to commit suicide thus causing us to slow down. food is probably cheaper than Gatso's.

This really is strange. Driving to work yesterday and saw my first ever flat badger ! :0

Perhaps the new trend of people with big white sripes down the middle of the cars is making the badgers think 'She's a bit of a big lass but I'm having some of that <thump> ....Doh !' :D :D
