H & S Backbox/Centre Pipe
 

How much difference does the H & S backbox/centre pipe do to the performance of a 04 STI in std form. I have a prodrive backbox but would like a bot more of the dugger dugger sound if you know what i mean. On their website it states 18bhp increase. Is this likely?

well, i put an h & s classic design backbox, h & s straight through centre and h & s decat pipe on my 04' sti and my god i love it. the sound is awesome. just perfect. it really releases that flat-four burble. subaru's themselves noticed a major differance when they drove it and the build quality is like no other they have seen. i went down to collect mine from h & s themselves. nice peeps down there aswell. if you want to, come and have a look at mine. i dunno where you are.

trust me on the build quality tho matey. its fantastic, and the fit was a dream.

Unlikely IMHO. The ECU will just adjust to maintain the status quo, biggest gains are to be had from de/sports catting the down pipe. You need a remap to really get the full benefit from exhaust mods.

H&S exhausts are excellent and the original scooby design backbox makes a lovely sound.
