What would be a good enough reason to keep the bonnet up on a scooby when doing a power run on a rolling road ( with no air being directed at the engine), rather than having the bonnet shut, with adiquite cold air being blown at the cars scoop and front end?

No names of companies please, as I am trying to understand the different techniques if you like, of rolling road power runs?

Is this a grey area or is there a right and a wrong way to do it?

Many shades of grey here !

Whichever way gives most air to the I/C ideally ;)

I have asked a similar question before and it appears that some run with bonnet down and the main front air fan pointing up slightly across the bonnet to the scoop :)

Others have a dedicated top mount fan that is used with the bonnet up :)

Some just don't bother with an I/C fan and let you toast your engine

So it would appear that common sense would not be a bad thing, and the presence of some sort of air being directed at the I/C when on a power run, should be sought after. Not even for bigger BHP readings, but only for the safety of the engine. So if the facilities are there to produce the air, but are not used, then be very cautious of who's running your baby?

Thanks CC

I didn't run my baby for this very reason, you know where I'm coming from ;)
