A6 Avant or 5 Series Touring?
 

Dilemma!

I am looking for another family car and want to spend about 6-7K, it want it to be a bigish engine diesel and have narrowed it down to either an Audi A6 2.5TDI (any engine power, not that fussed unless it makes a big difference?) or for the same money i have seen some of the earlier BMW 530D Tourings

What say you those that have had them, I am leaning towards the Audi if I am honest for no other reason than I like them, is the BMW better, if so why?

Mate got an A6 TDi V6 2.5 quattro auto/Tip. Loaded with toys, pacey but not harsh, build is great and the interior is holding up well with 90k on the clock. Oak Green Metallic and beige interior.

FASH one owner on a 04 plate but the cam belt change quote was £1000 from Audi and £600 at an independent. CV boot went but that was £90. Fuel is about mid 30's + and high 40's on a run.

Can't comment on the 5's.

What about a Volvo V70 D5 ?

For those models the BMW would walk all over the Audi as a drivers car.
