Connection for psi3 oil temp/pressure sensors
 

Hi,
I am trying to connect the sensors to the cable that attaches to the back of the psi3 unit according to this: http://www.psi3.co.uk/downloads/connections_graph.pdf
The pdf shows 12 pins on connector #2 but the actual plug has 13 pins on the first row and 12 pins on the second row (it looks like the big connector on the right hand side of this image: http://www.cablesdirect.com/prodimages/CC314-06_LR.jpg)
Which row should I use to connect them?

Anyone? I guess I follow the convention for RS232 DB25 pinout then?

Why do you have to make the connection to the cable rather than the terminal block in the unit?(Number 5)

Mine isn't like this. The board uses RS232 type connectors. I will take a pic.

The DB25 type connector on the pic (left) attaches to the back of the psi3 unit. The question is which wires from this cable I need to connect to the oil temp & pressure sensors (black socket connects to one of the sensors - the other sensor uses an identical cable):

(basically I need to solder some of the above wires but I don't know which ones)

This is what the graphical psi3 looks like. The DB25 type connector attaches to the socket pictured below, next to the DB9 that connects to the diagnostic port.

I see what you mean. Mines the VFD display so the wiring is totally different isn't it. The pdf file you show must be an earlier one as it has the block connectors like mine. There must be a DOCUMENT REVISION C that has your wiring set up. Looks like you will have to give PSI3 a ring.

Exactly, I called Simon who said he would send me the correct drawings as the ones in the site are wrong (looks like they are for the old model as you say Mark). It's been a few days and I haven't heard back from him, I tried calling again, the phone is switched off and he doesn't reply to emails. I am getting pissed off now as it's impossible to contact him and I need to fit these next week when I go to powerstation.

That's a pain. Simon is very good on customer aftercare as a rule. I had some issues with my unit (dry solder joint) when out of warranty. He told me to send it back & it was returned "good as new" with no charge & in double quick time.

Hope you get yours resolved soon & in time for your visit to Powerstation.

i thought these just plugged straight into the ecu port under the steering column ? ?

The main unit does but if you have extra sensors for oil temp,oil pressure etc or you have a separate shift light then you need the second cable.

"Simon is very good on customer aftercare as a rule" hmmmmm I reserve judgement on that one.. I waited over 6 months for a replacement faulty sensor and had very few replies to mails.. I gave up in the end and got one elsewhere and when my unit developed a fault I also had very few replies.. luckily it was stolen and I replaced it...

I got the diagrams today.

What senders you guys using? Im thinking of wiring in the oil temp/pressure into mine

I have the Defi oil temperature sensor with a oil gallery plug adaptor.
