Mileages
How well do Classic's take their miles?
One im possibly looking at on Saturday has 113,000 miles and is running a TD05 at ~300bhp. |
depends on how hard a life its had, how well its been looked after etc etc
mate was running 320's on a 140k mils wrx and it ran fine till he wrapped it round a tree lol |
LOL!
Hmm, its a 1995 M reg, full MOT and taxed. just that I do around 40,000 miles a year. Its got a TD05 though which is the sort of turbo i was going to upgrade it to. if it had 20k miles it'd be a given! Ah, Tidgy, theres a name i recognise ;) |
mmm, explain how you recogise it? lol
if your doing 40k a year then tbh i'd buy a diesel run around, will save you a fortune? |
i hate diesel! Besides, I want a quick run around and my firm pay for my fuel :)
We have a mutual friend in Hull ;) |
ahhh i seee ;) how do
will save you a fortune running around in it though |
Hows things with you fella?
Spoken to Lisa much lately? yea, but i hate going slow LOL I've never really wanted a scooby, but for some bizarre reason they're appealing to me right now, so who would I be to ignore my wants? LOL Plus having a 4 door car that'll blow the doors of most of the boy racer trash is always good. ;) |
lol, not for a while actually, last time was when you text me to say she had no cred lol.
just do it mate, my rover 414 is pure class hehe |
cant afford to insure two cars :(
God that long ago!!!! I dont get to speak to her that much now a days, but i'll tell her you said hello when i next speak to her :) |
few on sidc that are 200.000+ miles still going strong
|
try it matey, the money you'd save on fuel would go a long way, insurance on the rover's only £300
|
I can car share to work, so i'd only be doing 10 miles a day ;)
|
on the other hand, my scooby is now obviously been abused bofor i got it, 114K on it and iv had to change the gear box, rear diff, and now my engin is on its way out for a rebuild!
but if its been looked after then i shudnt think theird be any problem |

We have a mutual friend in Hull ;) Back on topic....do you really think it is sensible to buy an aging, multi-owner, heavily modified Impreza with 113,000 miles on the clock when you do 40,000 business miles every year? You won't do much business if it keeps breaking down. |

I hope you own the firm because if an employee submitted a £10,000 fuel claim when similar employees were claiming less than half of that I'd want a very good reason not to sack him. Seriously.

not at all, nor do i feel that i have to explain myself to you :D
|
had mine just over a year now....bought it with 107,500 miles on it and now a year later it is coming up to 130,000....
had no problems engine wise....although saying that I am currently saving the last few pennies together for a rebuild :smug: (probably just jinxed myself now!) :wonder: Good luck :thumb: |
