Tyre pressures?
 

What tyre pressures should i be running? Ive got proxy t 1 rs on the standard 16 inch classic sti wheel. My suspension set up is pretty hard.

It doesn't matter what tyre, what wheel size or what suspension you've got, the tyre pressure is relative to the weight of the car. If that is more or less the same as the standard weight, then run them at the standard pressures. Add pressure if carrying a full load (3+ people and luggage).

The only other variable is your personal preference. Some run slightly soft to get more grip and a fluid break-away; others run hard to make it feel more direct but it may break-away more suddenly. Overinflated tyres may wear quicker in the centre, under-inflated to the edges.

If you increase wheel size and width, therefore lower profile tyres, I thought the pressure would have to be higher? :wonder:

So what are the standard pressures? Mine doesnt say in the door, its all in Japanese! Its an sti 2.

I have 215/40/17,s on mine. run 30psi front, 28psi rear. Hope this helps.

I find 32psi for the wheels under the engine and 30psi for the wheels with no engine above them is a safe bet. Remember also to inflate your tyres when they are cold as the pressure increases by a few psi when they heat up :thumb:

would it not be better to inflate them when they are already warm then, or they will end up over the desired pressure when driving?

I think they go up to the correct pressure when warm. I read it in the manual for my scoob so must be right :wonder:
