Spec-c windscreen

Just washed the car and have just noticed a crack in my windscreen, does anyone know if the spec-c windscreens are thinner like the rest of the glass,

TonyBurns 03 July 2008 09:16 PM

Yes they are thinner, you need to go though the dealer for the glass really, last one on mine took 6 months, then went to the dealer who got me one in 3 days ;)

Iv already had 2 chips repaired in 3 months! If it ever breaks Im just gona get the stronger std windscreen :(

ps apparently its just the chepo lighter windscreen from e.g a bogo GL model or similar!

I have just looked on my insurance and i am covered for windscreens with a £50 excess, i will see what they say tomorrow but would be tempted to put a normal one in if they are prone to chipping/cracking,

TonyBurns 03 July 2008 09:58 PM

Its a different windscreen altogether with its own part number, order only from japan unfortunately :(
I should add that there are 3 different types of windscreen for the STi's, this is the most expensive one :(

How much does it cost?

TonyBurns 03 July 2008 10:20 PM

Mine was about 640 quid, normally more like 800 :(

just had a normal replacement put in mine after returning from a nice trip to WRC germany a few years back it cracked just inside france on the return journey.

I been unlucky on my MY06 Spec C and had 2 cracked screen now.
I spoke to Iain Litchfield first time round and he told me it was the same as a standard STi.
